Helidon Xhixha is an internationally acclaimed sculptor renowned for his monumental stainless-steel works that transform light, space, and reflection into immersive experiences. Based between Milan and Dubai, Xhixha has developed a distinctive visual language through highly polished surfaces that engage directly with their surroundings, dissolving the boundaries between sculpture, viewer, and environment.
After studying at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and later at Kingston University in London, Xhixha began experimenting with stainless steel, a material that would become central to his practice. Through its reflective qualities, he explores themes of perception, transformation, and the relationship between humanity and the natural world. As the artist states, “I don’t sculpt materials; rather I use materials to sculpt light.”
Over the course of his career, Xhixha has realized numerous public commissions and large-scale installations across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. His works have been presented at major international venues and exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale, the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, Somerset House in London, and numerous public spaces worldwide. Through sculptures that continuously change according to light, movement, and context, Xhixha invites viewers to reconsider their relationship with the environments they inhabit.
