Khozema Al-Aaed
This work is not merely a mass of metal but a living form suspended between collapse and becoming, between memory and transformation.
Composed of layered, corroded iron and measuring two and a half meters in diameter, each surface carries the marks of time, heat, and endurance. Rust is not treated as a flaw but as a language, revealing a material that has lived, been affected, and reshaped by experience.
The form recalls a wounded planet, an exposed heart, or a city rebuilt from fragments. Its openings are not voids but spaces for breath, memory, and reflection, where absence becomes possibility.
Suspended in space, the work exists in a state of in-between, echoing the contemporary human condition caught between fragility and resilience, weight and hope. It invites the viewer not to understand, but to feel, to recognize themselves within its layers, and to sense that despite corrosion and time, endurance remains possible.
