Sarine Samerjian
The pomegranate has long occupied an important place within Sarine Semerjian's visual language, symbolising life, abundance, fertility and continuity.
Here, however, its symbolism evolves. An eye emerges from within the fruit, drawing inspiration from Plato's Allegory of the Cave and the transformative moment when one steps beyond inherited perceptions to encounter a new reality.
Rather than offering certainty, the work asks what it means to truly see.
Resting delicately within an outstretched hand, the pomegranate becomes both a gift and an invitation. It is a meditation on knowledge, awakening and the quiet courage required to move towards the unknown.
