"Please forgive me for what I do when I don’t remember you I" extends its exploration to the concept of hand-me-downs, a symbolic tradition that passes down tangible remnants of domestication and femininity from one generation of women to the next. The most prevalent hand-me-down takes the form of tablecloths, which the daughter receives upon being married to adorn her home and appear more occidentalized to her guests. The artwork explores the delicate bond shared between a mother and her daughter as profound and enduring connection that transcends time and circumstance, a sanctuary where acceptance, misunderstanding, rage, love, shame, and silent forgiveness can coexist.
