Khozema Al-Aaed
In this work, Al Aaed reimagines the map as a layering of time rather than a depiction of place. Past and present coexist across the surface, where contemporary blue lines intersect with carved cavities revealing older doors, symbols of generational thresholds.
An archaeological fragment anchors continuity, while the horse suggests endurance and movement. The word “Generation” becomes a conceptual axis, emphasizing inheritance and transmission. What appears modern rests upon what came before. History is not erased, but carried forward.
