Firetti Contemporary is proud to unveil its latest collaboration with Duck & Waffle: Beyond the Palette — a bold convergence of contemporary art and culinary experience, now open at the iconic DIFC restaurant.
Launched on April 29th, this immersive exhibition redefines the dining experience by transforming Duck & Waffle into a vibrant gallery of form, flavor, and storytelling. Sculptural works by three acclaimed artists — Paolo Nicolai, Rachel K, and Helidon Xhixha — activate the space with bold visual narratives that mirror the energy of the venue.
A Fusion of Form and Flavor
In celebration of this union, Duck & Waffle has introduced a bespoke cocktail menu inspired by the artworks on view. Each drink is carefully paired with a corresponding piece, inviting guests to engage not only visually but through taste — creating a multi-sensory journey that lingers beyond the table.
Featured Artists
-
Paolo Nicolai unveils David Brain Damage, a sculptural reinterpretation of Michelangelo’s David. Composed of fractured marble and resin, the work channels themes of vulnerability, imperfection, and emotional resilience.
-
Rachel K brings playful nostalgia into focus with works like Rgranat and Mini Rchilli, colorful pieces that explore memory, food, and identity through childlike forms and vibrant hues.
-
Helidon Xhixha, known for his commanding stainless-steel sculptures, presents Cello and Deep Red — fluid, reflective works that respond to light and movement, echoing the pulse of the surrounding space.
Art as Experience
Beyond the Palette invites viewers to encounter art in an entirely new context — one where it can be felt, tasted, and lived. In this dynamic setting, sculpture becomes part of conversation, cuisine, and connection.
