ART IN MOTION

An Immersive Art x Fitness Collaboration Featuring Laurent Perbos
Firetti Contemporary is proud to announce Art in Motion, a collaboration with SEVEN that brings together contemporary art and physical experience in an unexpected setting. Presented as a site-specific installation at SEVEN’s entrance, the project features works by acclaimed French artist Laurent Perbos, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, sport, and daily routine.

This immersive display invites guests and members into a dynamic environment where movement and visual art coexist. Perbos’ signature series, Antik Basketball and Ballon², are on view—recasting classical aesthetics through the lens of modern physical culture. These works challenge our perceptions of value, beauty, and performance, making art not only present but participatory.

In Antik Basketball, Perbos fuses the forms of Greco-Roman gods and heroes—such as Apollo, Artemis, and Meleager—with the texture of basketballs, transforming revered figures into vessels of contemporary commentary. The result is a playful yet poignant dialogue between history and consumerism.

Ballon², a double-headed football crafted from fine leather in a limited edition of 500, hovers between sculpture and sporting object. It critiques the glorification of performance and the evolving spectacle of competition.

By positioning these works at the core of a wellness space, Art in Motion transforms SEVEN into more than a destination for physical transformation—it becomes a site of cultural exploration and conceptual engagement.
