SARINE SAMERJIAN

NOW REPRESENTED BY FIRETTI CONTEMPORARY

Firetti Contemporary is pleased to announce the representation of multidisciplinary artist Sarine Semerjian.

Of Armenian descent, Semerjian was born in Toronto and raised across the culturally rich landscapes of Syria and Lebanon. A self-taught multidisciplinary artist, her creative language has been shaped by the contrasts of growing up in war-torn regions, as well as the enduring heritage of her ancestors.

Working across painting, drawing, movement and performance, Semerjian's practice explores the body as a site of intuition, transformation and inherited experience. Through surreal dreamscapes and an instinctive visual language, she invites viewers to reconnect with forms of knowledge that exist beyond words, where emotion, identity and the subconscious converge.

Her recent works envision the body as landscape, weaving together elements of Armenia, Syria and Lebanon into imagined terrains that reflect both personal and collective experience. Drawing from themes of exile, resilience and belonging, her practice blurs the boundaries between the physical and the psychological, offering poetic reflections on the enduring relationship between people, place and self.

Firetti Contemporary is honoured to welcome Sarine Semerjian to the gallery and looks forward to sharing her upcoming exhibitions, projects and new bodies of work in the months ahead.
