Khozema Al-Aaed’s legends connect people at Firetti Contemporary
Muhammad Yusuf, Gulf Today , April 14, 2026
Khozema Al-Aaed’s exhibition We Walk on Stories explored the emotional and psychological relationship between cities, memory, and human connection through layered abstract compositions inspired by urban landscapes. Rooted in the idea that cities function as living archives, the works reflected on how architecture, streets, and environments absorb personal histories, collective experiences, and traces of human presence over time.

The exhibition examined storytelling as a universal force that connects people across cultures and geographies, positioning cities not only as physical spaces but as emotional terrains shaped by migration, belonging, nostalgia, and transformation. Through textured surfaces and gestural mark-making, Al-Aaed constructed visual maps that moved between memory and imagination, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationships with place and identity.

Presented at Firetti Contemporary, the exhibition highlighted the gallery’s continued interest in practices that engage with cultural memory, human experience, and interdisciplinary dialogue. Through We Walk on Stories, Al-Aaed proposed storytelling itself as a form of architecture — one capable of preserving histories, building empathy, and connecting individuals across time and space.
