Reynier Llanes, born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba in 1985, embarked on his artistic journey with a strong foundation in the arts. He attended the city's school of art, Instructores de Arte, for four years, completing his studies in 2004 under the tutelage of Juan Miguel Suárez, one of Cuba's most renowned realist artists. In 2005, Llanes relocated to Havana, a vibrant hub of art and culture, where he continued his studies and collaborated with fellow artists, drawing inspiration from the city's numerous museums.

Llanes' works are deeply rooted in the folklore and landscapes of Cuba, often viewed through a lens of magical reinterpretation. Conceptually, his art delves into narrative dynamics, weaving fables and allegories that reformulate settings and images while remaining true to the essence of each story he presents.

In the years to come, Reynier continued his artistic exploration through various projects, collaborating with institutions and communities, all aimed at delving into the multifaceted aspects of human nature and experimenting with different art mediums and techniques. Inspired by great artists who came before him, he aspires to not only create but also to encourage and inspire emerging artists, providing them with a gateway to express the ineffable through art.

Reynier Llanes' art has found a permanent place in the collections of several prominent institutions, including the Denver Art Museum in Denver, CO, the Ogunquit Museum of American Art in ME, Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College, the Snite Museum of Art in South Bend, Indiana, the Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, FL, the Arkansas Arts Center, the Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock, Arkansas, the Museum of Art - DeLand in DeLand, FL, and the Museum collection of Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC.
