Lily pads float across a pale blue body of water, bordered in black and white checks that frame the surface. Created after Everything Endlessly, the painting continues its motifs of water and repetition, but here they turn more introspective. The text I felt this as a child and now ties the work back to memory that has never left, while the title I’m leaving here and I still don’t know reflects the artist’s own state of transition. The painting sits inside that in-between, an acceptance of not having answers, yet continuing forward with the weight of both past and present.
