Firetti Contemporary is pleased to highlight Reynier Llanes, currently featured in Steeped in Folklore: Recent Paintings by Reynier Llanes at the Morris Museum.
The exhibition presents a selection of Llanes’ recent works, which draw deeply from Cuban folklore, landscape, and personal memory. Through richly textured oil paintings and symbolic imagery, the artist explores themes of storytelling, tradition, and imagination. His compositions weave together elements of nature and everyday life with a poetic, almost mythical sensibility, inviting viewers to encounter narratives that exist between reality and fable.
Llanes’ practice often reflects on memory, migration, and the cultural narratives that shape identity, expressed through expressive brushwork and layered painterly surfaces.
Steeped in Folklore: Recent Paintings by Reynier Llanes is currently on view at the Morris Museum through April 19.
