Firetti Contemporary marked the UAE’s 50th National Day through a series of large-scale public art installations across Dubai, led by monumental works by Helidon Xhixha. The central piece, Pillar of Fortitude, installed at DIFC, symbolized unity and progress through its seven-metre vertical form, referencing the seven Emirates and the country’s forward-looking vision.
Expanding beyond a single installation, the initiative unfolded across the city through the IMPRINT public art program, introducing additional sculptures such as ICEBERG and EARTH in Jumeirah Golf Estates. These reflective, stainless-steel works engaged directly with themes of climate change and environmental responsibility, encouraging public awareness around global warming and ecological vulnerability.
Through this project, Firetti Contemporary positioned public art as a powerful tool for cultural dialogue, aligning artistic expression with national identity, sustainability, and global concerns. The initiative reinforced Dubai’s ambition to become a hub for creativity and cross-cultural exchange, while emphasizing the role of large-scale, open-air installations in shaping the relationship between art, community, and the urban environment.
