Firetti Contemporary presented Emirati artist Salmah Almansoori in Italy through the exhibition Memories Are Home at Cala del Forte in Ventimiglia, marking an important international presentation of her evolving practice centered on memory, place, and material transformation. The exhibition brought together multiple bodies of work that explored how landscapes, objects, and surfaces retain emotional and historical traces over time.
Rooted in her upbringing in Ghayathi, Almansoori’s works examined themes of preservation, fragmentation, and identity through layered compositions, handmade surfaces, and archival gestures. The exhibition featured series including Who I Became, I Was a Forgotten Moment, and Unfolding, reflecting her ongoing interest in how personal and collective histories become embedded within materials and environments.
The presentation highlighted Firetti Contemporary’s continued efforts to support emerging Emirati artists internationally, while positioning Almansoori’s practice within broader conversations around cultural memory, transformation, and the evolving identity of contemporary art from the UAE.
